The Wasps, Aristophanic Suite, for orchestra from the incidental music. 5. Overture (Excerpt). Ralph Vaughan Williams. Carnival of the Animals, zoological fantasy for 2 pianos & ensemble.

Ann Rachlin is a pioneer of music appreciation for children in the UK, and the first performer to introduce "fun" to classical music. A gifted storyteller, Ann began teaching music appreciation in London before creating Fun with Music®. Ann met and married American conductor/pianist Ezra Rachlin and moved to the United States, where Ezra conducted orchestras in Austin, Fort Worth, and Houston. Under his expert guidance, Ann expanded her repertoire and gave her first concert with a full symphony orchestra.

The cornerstone of Classical music composition was balance. The gaudy, overly ornate style favored in the Baroque age fell out of favor in the Classical period. Poems were set to music and musical themes were used to tell stories. Conventions regarding proper length, number of movements and instrumentation of a piece were abandoned in favor of more expressive and experimental aspects. This led to new forms like etudes, variations and character pieces.

Have a soppy and indulgent listen to the most romantic pieces of music imaginable. 1. Puccini - O Mio Babbino Caro. Rota - Love Theme, from Romeo and Juliet. So the story itself didn’t end all that well (whirlwind holiday romance goes insanely wrong, teens take drastic action etc), but the music inspired by Shakespeare’s most famous romance is so affecting, so purely emotional, that you’ll probably want to visit the apothecary as well (not really). 6. Mascagni - Intermezzo, from Cavalleria Rusticana.
