The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You is the sixth studio album by American musician Neko Case. It was released on September 3, 2013 under Anti Records. The album was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. All tracks written by Neko Case, except where noted. Neko Case – vocals, backing vocals, guitar, tambourine, jingle bells. Kelly Hogan – backing vocals.

The cover photo for 2009's Middle Cyclone found indie rock civil defense siren Neko Case warning the masses of potentially deadly weather from atop the hood of a 1967 Mercury Cougar. It was a striking image, and one that perfectly captured both the album's quiet might and her distinctive Patsy Cline-meets-Rosie the Riveter allure.

I was surprised when you called me a lady, ’Cuz I’m still not so sure that’s what I want to be, Neko Case sings on I’m From Nowhere on her latest album The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love Yo. She’s settled into the safety of contemporary indie-folk, giving The Worse Things Ge. he same kind of innocuous sound as radio-friendly groups like The Civil Wars and Of Monsters And Men. Case’s voice is certainly still strong, but she doesn’t use it the same way she used to: Gone are the feisty belting numbers that found her wailing about heartbreak or asserting her self-sufficiency.

On Neko Case’s last album, The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You, there’s a song called Man, in which the object of Case’s lyrical raid becomes utterly devitalized. A woman’s heart is the watermark by which I measure everything, Case sings, brilliantly mocking masculinity. My love for them that is brimming over to the point of being upsetting, she says, recalling the 2016 WomanProducer conference in Brooklyn, New York, at which she appeared on a panel organized by Khaela Maricich and Melissa Dyne of electro-pop duo The Blow. The second we all got in that room we exploded.

Несколько слов на английском. Her first album in over four years, "The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You" is Neko Case's most precise, urgent record to date; marked by a melodic immediacy, a loving embrace of the big rock gesture, and a lyrical frankness. The cover photo for 2009's Middle Cyclone found indie rock civil defense siren Neko Case warning the masses of potentially deadly weather from atop the hood of a 1967 Mercury Cougar.
