World-class pianist Friedrich-Wilhelm Schnurr released this album of solo piano works by Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Schubert in 2014 as a benefit for a children's music project at the Otjikondo School in Namibia. But it's the music, after all, that counts: the octogenarian's piano playing sounds youthful and powerful, gripping and tender as Schnurr drapes these great small piano pieces with a singing tone and a broad colour spectrum. 4. kHz, 24-bit PCM – Genuin Studio Masters.
