Bob Dylan is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on March 19, 1962 by Columbia Records. Produced by Columbia's legendary talent scout John H. Hammond, who signed Dylan to the label, the album features folk standards, plus two original compositions, "Talkin' New York" and "Song to Woody".
Bob Dylan's 1974 album, Blood on the Tracks, reminded the world that Dylan was a songwriter without peer. On his next album, he decided to experiment by taking on a co-writer, theater director Jacques Levy. While the songs on Blood on the Tracks were highly personal, these new songs were largely about characters, both real and imagined. He had reunited with the Band the previous year for an extremely lucrative reunion tour, but it was a decidedly nostalgic affair. Dylan had scored hits in the early 1970s with "Forever Young" and "Knockin' on Heaven's Door," but his albums were pretty half-assed affairs. Dylan, of course, denies the songs are personal, but it's impossible not to hear his pain on tracks like "You're a Big Girl Now" and "If You See Her, Say Hello.

Greatest Bob Dylan Albums interactive top ten list at TheTopTens®. My favourite Bob Dylan album. The most underrated of Dylan's albums. A work of dazzling emotional complexity. Always loved this one. I don't understand why it isn't more highly regarded. 14 The Bootleg Series Vol. 4: Bob Dylan Live 1966, the "Royal Albert Hall" Concert. Worth it for the magnificent lead up to Like A Rolling Stone. Telling all the stuck-in-the-mud folkies where to get off. "Play it ' LOUD" he instructs the band. He sings well, great band. Especially One more cup of coffee, and Shelter from the storm, best versions of all. I don't care what the critics have said about this album, Vegas or not, still a great album! 22 The Basement Tapes. 23 Another Side of Bob Dylan. A true and early masterpiece! Why isn't this one rated much higher? That's a shame!

Another Side of Bob Dylan Year: 1964 If Bringing It All Back Home was the bridge to the electric masterpieces Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde On Blonde, then Another Side of Bob Dylan was the all-important first step. Still working within the folk framework as a solo performer, Dylan abandons his ultra-serious politics for some of the most personal, humorous, poetic and heartbreakingly vulnerable songs in his catalog. The Times They Are A-Changin’ reflects the world in which it was written. There arrangements are not in a neat package and the lyrics are as honest as they are disturbing. Dylan’s album describes the true emotion of the ‘60s without sugar-coating events many would rather forget.
