Earnest Laid-Back/Mellow Angst-Ridden Brooding Cathartic Ramshackle Visceral. Low Life in Spain: Live in Madrid 2006.

Beasts of Bourbon are an Australian alternative rock, blues rock band formed in August 1983, with James Baker on drums (ex-Hoodoo Gurus,The Scientists), Spencer P. Jones on guitar (The Johnnys), Tex Perkins on vocals (Dum Dums), Kim Salmon on guitar and Boris Sujdovic on bass guitar (both ex-The Scientists). Except for mainstays Jones and Perkins, the line-up has changed as the group splintered and reformed several times. In late 2003, they reformed and recorded a live album, Low Life, which was released on Spooky Records in August 2005. In 2006, they reformed to play in the Big Day Out around Australia and New Zealand. In late December 2006, Albert Productions signed an exclusive worldwide recording deal with the band, and they released a new album, Little Animals, on 21 April 2007.

Live At The Tote Hotel October 2003.

Live at Copernico, Madrid in 2006. The Beasts of Bourbon have been fermenting for almost as long as a decent bottle of their namesake. Their spirit marinated blasts of blues rock takes The Stooges prototype and rassles it to a sawdust covered floor. There's a confidence and almost arena-savvy projection in their oeuvre. There are flashes of Lux Interior channeling Paul Rodgers and even Joe Cocker with the band providing the perfect counter ballast of geographically dismembered southern fried jams and garage riffola

The Beasts of Bourbon give a rousing performance in front of a wildly enthusiastic audience in this 2006 concert filmed live at Madrid's Copernico. Widely acknowledged as having helped define Australian swamp rock, the critically acclaimed group has been referred to as a rougher version of the Rolling Stones. Songs include "The Low Road," "Chase the Dragon," "Make 'em Cry," "Bad Revisited," "Driver Man," "Let's Get Funky" and many more.
