The Modern Lovers is the debut studio album by American rock band the Modern Lovers. It was released on Beserkley Records in 1976, although the original nine tracks had been recorded in 1972 (or 1971 in the case of "Hospital"). Six of the original tracks were produced by John Cale. In 2003, the album was ranked number 381 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
The bad news album! DR JOHN Babylon (ATCO, 1969) A strange set of circumstances sees Dr John and band arrive in San Francisco, where they fit – to their surprise – very neatly in with the countercultural vibe. When I got into this business, I was making a couple of recording dates a day, two gigs a night. My first wife and I couldn’t pay the rent. We were trying to run a ho’ house – and between all of that we couldn’t make the rent.
John, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, 6 Grammys, songwriter, composer, producer & performer, created music that carried his hometown New Orleans at its heart.
Night light hits off, turnin' kisses to bites I'm a down to Earth nigga, with intentions, that's right You'll be down in Earth quicker if you diss me tonight But I'll be the happiest if you decide to kick it tonight We can chill and I can act like I don't wanna fuck.
On that earlier album, the two had covered pop standards.
Although the two main characters, and two supporting characters, are clearly vampires, the word "vampire" is never used throughout this movie. The ear pieces are hanging on Adam's left side. In the shot in the hallway, the stethoscope is now hanging with the ear pieces on his right side. Things take an unexpected turn when Swinton's mischievous sister (Mia Wasikowska) visits them. Only Lovers Left Alive has cult film written all over it.
