Edoardo Bellotti has come up with a brilliant idea to present this beautiful organ, which so handsomely ornaments the Fountain Court of Rochester's Memorial Art Gallery. He has chosen seven paintings on view at the museum and pieces of music that have connections-some obvious, some veiled-with the pictures. It's a "Pictures at an Exhibition" for organ and Italian paintings (except for one English view of Vienna).
Italian organ virtuoso Edoardo Bellotti will perform works from his CD Promenade, a collection of works inspired by paintings at the Memorial Art Gallery, during the next Italian Baroque Organ Showcase Concert at the Gallery at 5:30 . on Sunday, Nov. 16. The CD was recorded at the gallery in 2007 and features improvisations by Bellotti and organ works by Frescobaldi, Vivaldi, Pasquini, and others, which are paired with seven paintings in the gallery.
