The Symphony No. 9 in E minor, "From the New World", Op. 95, B. 178 (Czech: Symfonie č. 9 e moll „Z nového světa ), popularly known as the New World Symphony, was composed by Antonín Dvořák in 1893 while he was the director of the National Conservatory of Music of America from 1892 to 1895. It is by far his most popular symphony, and one of the most popular of all symphonies.

Czech Philharmonic (Artist), Antonin Dvorak (Composer), Vaclav Neumann (Conductor) & 0 more Format: Vinyl. On two occasions during his tenure as chief conductor of the Czech Philharmonic (1968-1990) Václav Neumann undertook a major, and beautiful, task to make a studio recording of one of the best-known and most wonderful symphonies of all time, Antonín Dvoráks From the New World. The first recording was made in early 1972, with the orchestra possessing technical brilliance following Karel Ancerls era, yet craving intensive emotionality and romantic flight which they were duly afforded by their new charismatic chief conductor.
