Symphony No. 9 in D minor ("Choral"), Op. 125. 1. Allegro ma non troppo. Ludwig van Beethoven. Otto Klemperer, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Toonkunst Choir Concertgebouw Orchestra Otto Klemperer, Conductor. Live Performance: Amsterdam, 17 May 1956. Extremely amazing recording, because of quality, and also just because it's from 1824. It is amazing that we can still listening to something that occurred 188 years ago, from where I am at the present time. This live version (in mono) is astonishingly dynamic. There is audible tape hiss as was common in those days, but this does not seriously detract from the listening.

Conductor – Otto Klemperer. Orchestra – Philharmonia Orchestra. Beethoven, Otto Klemperer, Philharmonia Orchestra, Aase Nordmo Lövberg, Christa Ludwig, Waldemar Kmentt, Hans Hotter, Philharmonia Chorus - Symphony N. In D Minor ('Choral'), Leonora N. Overture, King Stephen Overture ‎(2xLP, RE, Box). His Master's Voice, His Master's Voice, His Master's Voice. Sls 790, 2, asd 2567, asd 2568.

Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, O. 25 'Choral' (1998 Remastered Version): I. Allegro ma non troppo, un p - Symphony No. 25 'Choral' (1998. 2. Symphony No. 25 'Choral' (1998 Remastered Version): II. Molto vivace - Presto - Mo - Presto. 3. 25 'Choral' (1998 Remastered Version): III. Adagio molto e cantabile - Andante moderato. 4. 25 'Choral' (1998 Remastered Version): IV. Presto - Symphony No. When you consider that this is all the work of a distinguished conductor, great orchestra, and stellar recording team, you should seriously consider getting it. The sound is amazingly vivid, with a presence and detail that one just doesn't get in the estimable performances from Szell (early 1960's) or Jochum (early 1970's).

Album · 2012 · 25 Songs. 29 in A Major, . 01: III. Menuetto. By Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra & Otto Klemperer. 5. 01: IV. Allegro con spirito. By Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Otto Klemperer & Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Beethoven's 'Choral' is arguably the greatest symphony ever composed: the summit of his achievements, a masterful musical celebration of the human race and a massive work that makes all who hear it feel better about life.

This album has an average beat per minute of 103 BPM (slowest/fastest tempos: 70/132 BPM). 9 in D minor, op. 125 "Choral": Presto - Rezitativo "o Freunde, nicht diese Töne!' - Allegro assai.

Classical Music Discussion. Best Beethoven Symphony Recordings. all time great recording ◄ top choice for combination of performance and good sound quality. Wilhelm Furtwängler (1943) (DG, Music & Arts, Andromeda) ♫ Otto Klemperer (1957) (Testament BBC) Herbert von Karajan (1962) (DG) ◄ Bruno Walter (Sony). The 5th and 7th in his reading with the VPO (7th also with Concertgebouw Orchestra on DVD) are IMO the best on the market. Such a shame he didn't record more music, such as Mahler and Bruckner.
