It’s their first release with drummer Travis Barker, who replaced original member Scott Raynor. Beginning to stray away from their punk roots, the band collaborated with reputable punk-rock producer Jerry Finn, who played a pivotal role in creating the album’s pop-punk sound and bringing the genre to its mainstream peak. The album has sold over 15 million copies worldwide and continues to make several top album lists, including Rock Sound’s 51 Most Essential Pop Punk Albums of All Time and a spot in Kerrang!’s 51 Greatest Pop Punk Albums Ever. The album cover, which remains one of the most recognizable to date, features porn star Janine Lindemulder in a nurse costume.

However, something of a melancholy presence lurked beneath. On the surface, Enema Of The State presents itself as an album loaded with tales of juvenile delinquency. In reality, however, it deals in nostalgia for adolescence.

Countless awards, iconic tracks and the cultural influence of Enema mark it in history as one of the greatest albums of all time. 1. Pushing pop punk into the mainstream. Prior to the release of Enema Of The State, punk was still known as somewhat of a niche genre.

Although the Mark Trombino-produced album featured the band's first hit single ("Dammit"), its gritty sound wasn't too far removed from the indie releases of their early years.

Recorded at various locations throughout California with producer Jerry Finn, the album was first released on June 1, 1999 in the United States on MCA Records. What's My Age Again?", "All the Small Things" and "Adam's Song" were released as singles, each highly successful. For follow-up to the band's successful second record, Dude Ranch, the band booked multiple.

When Blink 182 released Enema of the State, it made them national superstars of punk, pop and alternative. No doubt they did, as this album is a classic punk album at the tail end of the millennium. The songs are filled with fun, rebellion, immaturity and obvious romantic cliches turned on their heads. Dumpweed is a great opener, while the album strikes best with the combination of 'Aliens Exist', 'Going Away to College' and 'What's My Age Again' a trilogy of songs that connect with each other really well. Adam's Song is a heartfelt and awesome piece while All The Small Things is a 90's single that cannot be missed. Only the last few songs falter, but Enema of The State is worth listening to. It was cool back then and it's still cool now. People will cheer on the trio during this entire album.4.5/5
