Reverence is the second studio album by Cameroonian jazz bassist and musician Richard Bona. It was released on September 7, 2001 through Columbia Jazz. The song "Reverence (The Story of a Miracle)" features guest appearance by prominent jazz guitarist Pat Metheny.

This gets my vote for debut jazz album of last year. This, despite the fact that it comes off - if you're not really listening - so sweetly as an Afro-Cuban-spiced song collection by a pleasant-enough vocalist who happens to be a bassist, too. Well, wake up, fellow listeners. Scenes From My Life" is a deceptively smooth introduction to a substantial artist who might simultaneously satisfy populist and elite elements of the jazz crowd.

mentalist/vocalist Richard Bona has debuted SCENES FROM MY LIFE for Columbia Jazz. The Cameroon, Africa native who is widely considered to be one of the world’s top bass players, and rightly so, has performed with such great musicians as Harry Belafonte, Joe Zawinul, Manu Dibango, Billy Cobham, The Brecker Brothers and Salif Keita. SCENES FROM MY LIFE is a marvelous debut for Richard Bona and represents the brilliance within his consummate artistry. Tracks: Dipita; New Bell; Souwedi Na Wengue; Eyala; Djombwe; Te Dikalo; One Minute; Muna Nyuwe; Na Mala Nde; Konda Djanea; Eyando; Messanga.

His debut solo album, Scenes from My Life, was released in 1999. He has also been prominently featured in Jaco Pastorius Big Band albums, as well as many other albums by various top-tier jazz musicians. In 2002 Bona went on a world tour with the Pat Metheny Group
