Album · 1996 · 53 Songs. A Sea Symphony : I A Song for all Seas, all ships. Amanda Roocroft, Sir Andrew Davis, BBC Symphony Chorus, The BBC Symphony Orchestra & Thomas Hampson. 2. A Sea Symphony : II On the Beach at Night Alone. 3. A Sea Symphony : III Scherzo - The Waves. 4. A Sea Symphony : IV The Explorers.

Tracklist: Gustav Holst (1874 – 1934). Except for the generically late Romantic A Winter Idyll, the other early works on the album contain hints of the mature Holst. In the case of the Invocation for cello and orchestra, Op. 19, No. 2, it's a big hint; the work, in the able hands of cellist Guy Johnston, has the spaciousness and slightly mystical quality of The Planets.

Album · 2011 · 16 Songs. Sir Andrew Davis & BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. 6. Japanese Suite, Op. 33: III. Dance of the Marionette. 7. 33: IV. Interlude: Song of the Fisherman.

This selection of orchestral works by Holst provides a remarkable overview of his career, ranging from such early works as A Winder Idyll – composed in 1897 when he was still studying at the Royal College of Music – to the Scherzo of a symphony on which he was working towards the end of his life. None of the music recorded here was published in his lifetime, and the Scherzo – rarely heard though it is – is the only work to have entered the repertoire.

2 Dream Children, Op. 43: I. Andante. 3 Dream Children, Op. 43: II.
