Ultraglide in Black puts a rock spin on recognizable nuggets of soul and funk while retaining the original version's integrity and message. Most of the tunes covered here are spirited party tracks, including a sparkling version of Gaye's "Got to Give It Up" that features a strident breakdown. Vocalist Mick Collins, of the Gories fame, paints each track with a flavorful delivery which at times will have the listener literally transported to AM radio's yesteryear.

Fun, catchy and addictive album from the best Detroit rock band. Although they are versions of black music classics of the 60s and 70s they have the Collins touch, modern and garajero, without falling into absurd revivalism, retro rancid fashions or imposed labels. In this magnificent album there are revientapistas of punk garajero and media more relaxed times but everything is great. To highlight cannon shots like Chain of love, Ode to a black man, Underdog, festive themes like Your love belong ... The Thing, Livin 'for the weekend and a personal delight, Kung Fu, version of classic Curtis Mayfield with the base of drums from the Bela Lugosi`s Dead by Bauhaus.
