Simo Lagnawi quickly became the UK's leading Guembri player after arriving in the country 6 years ago. Bringing tales of ancient Gnawa wisdom from Sub-saharan Africa, which blew across the desert to Morocco hundreds of years ago, in a traditional music which opens a door to the spiritual world and invokes a trance state in receptive listeners. He has already played at some great venues including Momo London, Momo Dubai, Victoria and Albert Museum, Glastonbury Festival 2009 and Latitude Festival 2013. He has appeared on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC World Service.
