Since pianist Abdullah Ibrahim is a pianist with a picturesque and orchestral style, it is only logical that he would eventually record with a string section. Ibrahim, bassist Belden Bullock, and drummer George Gray are joined by ten violins, four violas, four cellists, and two additional bassists for this well-conceived project. The arrangements by Daniel Schnyder expertly orchestrate the beauty of Ibrahim's music to the strings, and the pianist rises to the occasion.
