The Last Broadcast is the second studio album by British indie rock band Doves. The album was released by Heavenly Records on 29 April 2002, and went straight to number 1 on the UK Albums Chart.

In 1985, Miles Davis began recording an album called Rubberband, which was set to be his first album for Warner Bros. Records following his departure from longtime label Columbia. That record was ultimately shelved; his first album for Warner would be 1986’s Tutu. Last year saw the title track to Davis’ album, Rubberband, released on an EP of the same name. Featured on the album are Lalah Hathaway and the R&B/jazz singer Ledisi, who guests on an alternate version of the title track, Rubberband of Life, which appeared on last year’s EP. Find that below as well. In April, it was announced that Davis’ full recordings from his sessions around Birth of the Cool would be coming to vinyl. Rubberband: 01 Rubberband of Life [ft.

Culled from TV and radio broadcasts around the time Davis was recording Porgy and Bess, 'Round about Midnight, and Kind of Blue, it features the classic quintet (sextet) of Davis, Trane, (Adderley), Evans/Garland/Kelly, Chambers, and Jones/Cobb. As the album title states, these unreleased tracks were originally recorded during radio and TV appearances in the late '5Os. Players working with Miles Davis on these dates included John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Gerry Mulligan, Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones. The disc features 10 songs, including two stellar versions of Bye Bye Blackbird, recorded within six months of each other.

Milestones (CL 1193) is a studio album by American jazz trumpeter and composer Miles Davis, recorded with his "first great quintet" augmented as a sextet. It was released in 1958 by Columbia Records. Tenor saxophonist John Coltrane's return to Davis' group in 1958 coincided with the "modal phase" albums: Milestones and Kind of Blue (1959) are both considered essential examples of 1950s modern jazz. Davis at this point was experimenting with modes – scale patterns other than major and minor.
