subtractiveLAD is a music project featuring Stephen Hummel's more experimental works. Three of these tracks were originally released in 2009 as the second disc of the "Where the Land Meets the Sky" double album CD release. The original three tracks have been remastered for this release, along with a hard to find b-side from that time period entitled "Containing Light" e sharing.

The music of subtractiveLAD can be described as melodic, fluid and deeply emotional, full of warm analogue ambience, punctuated with processed crunchy experimental electronica style rhythms. The subtractiveLAD sound hints back to 70s-era Eno and Tangerine Dream, but infused with a contemporary laptop aesthetic. Siti: subtractivelad. Alias: Stephen Hummel.
Originally released in 2009 via n5MD, "Where the Land Meets the Sky" finds Stephen Hummel honing his subtractiveLAD sound to such effect that it allows him to concentrate on conveying his deepest feelings rather than the processes that go into music making. The album serves as an extension of Hummel's previous album "Apparatus" (2008) and effortlessly flows between such genres as shoegaze, armchair electronica, post-rock, and classic ambient
