Musically, Vol. 1 is easily the worst Canon release. The music is outdated hype-up, electronic-boosted stuff that's really hard to take seriously today. Most old rap music has not aged well, and Vol. 1 is no exception. Lyrically, it's better than it is musically, but hard to call truly great. The rap flow is solid, but harmed by the goofy music that thinks it's cool. Honestly, Vol. 1 is better than I thought it would be, and it has a surprising amount of solid lyrical content, specifically on the first song and "Yeah." Vol. 1 is not terrible, but the music is outdated and the lyrics are not consistently strong. It's alright thanks to a healthy dose of strong lyrics and a good rap performance. It's a 6.5.
